The G425 Hybrid Features:
High-Density Tungsten Back Weight
The higher moment of inertia is achieved with the use of high-density tungsten back sole weighting strategically positioned at the rear of the 17-4 stainless steel body to produce more a more forgiving design.
PING engineers have designed this hybrid with a high-strength maraging steel face (one of the strongest steels in the world). This thin, high-strength maraging steel face extends into the crown and sole to provide increased flexing for faster ball speeds that result in greater distance and high launching shots.
The crown is highlighted with a new 3-dot alignment system which provides golfers with a visual cue to address the ball correctly.
This technology was developed with the aid of extensive robot testing and player testing program to bring more consistent spin performance. By using a more complex face curvature mainly lower on the clubface, loft decreases approximately by 2.5º to normalize spin and increase ball speed for more distance performance. So the most common miss-hit shots low on the face will achieve better results.
The hosel on the hybrid has five loft and lie adjustments to fine-tune trajectory, +-1.5° (0, +1°, +1.5°, -1°, -1.5° loft adjustments, and up to 3° flatter.
